Signing up for a new account and logging in to Before You Dig is simple. Read on to learn more about gaining access to your account.
Note: the login details you used in the old Before You Dig system no longer apply. You need to register for a new user account to access the new service.

How do I register?
To register for a new account, click on the Sign up button. This will launch the BYDA identity registration page.
- Enter your email address
- Click on the Send verification code button
- An email will be sent to your email address with a 6-digit verification code
- Enter the code in the Verification code box and click on Verify code
- Now proceed to fill in the remaining fields. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions to proceed
- Once everything is filled in, click on Create and you will be logged in and returned to the referral service
- If you already have an account linked to your email address, you can reset your password by following the Forgotten password link.
- If you didn’t receive a verification code, please check that your email address has been entered correctly. Also, you should check your junk mail folder. The subject line is something like “Before You Dig (BYDA) account email verification code”.
- The email verification code has a short time limit. You can request a new verification code if required.
How do I login?
Click on the Sign in button. This will launch the BYDA identity login page.
- Enter your email address and password
- Click the Sign in button
- You will be logged in and returned to the referral service
- If you can’t remember your password, click on the Forgot your password? link
- Note: your username and password from the old Before You Dig system no longer apply. You will need to register for a new account to access the new service
- If you don’t have an account linked to your email address, click on the Sign up now link to register
What’s my username?
There is no username. You use your registered email address to login. If you’ve changed your email address, please register for a new account.
Note: You can specify a different email address to receive enquiry confirmations and asset owner responses by entering an Alternate Email on your user profile.
I forgot my password
Oh no! Everyone forgets their password from time to time. It’s easy to get back into your account and set a new password.
Click on the Forgotten password? link. This will launch the BYDA identity login page.
- Enter your email address
- Click on the Send verification code button
- An email will be sent to your email address with a 6-digit verification code
- Enter the code in the Verification code box and click on Verify code
- Once your code has been verified, click on the Continue button
- Enter your new password in boxes provided and click on the Continue button
- If your email address has not yet been registered for an account you will receive a message. Return to the Sign up screen to register for a new account
- If you didn’t receive a verification code, please check that your email address has been entered correctly. Also, you should check your junk mail folder. The subject line is something like “Before You Dig (BYDA) account email verification code”.
My email address has changed
If your email address has changed you should register for a new account with your new email address. It is not possible to change the registered email address for an existing account.
If you can still login with your existing email address but you want the enquiry confirmations and asset owner responses to go to a different mailbox, you can set an Alternate Email in your user profile.
